Madras Diaries.
" Food for the body is not enough, There should be food for the soul "
This place serves food which hit the right spot , the soul spot. Located neatly at water field road in bandra west they serve one of my favorite cuisine the south Indian cuisine.
I had visited this place with my mom , who equally loves south Indian food. I was Soo happy seeing her enjoy the meal. it was my moment of victory. seeing your mom happy is the best thing and the only thing a son wants in his lifetime.
Let's get back to discussing Madras diaries. It's a pure vegetarian place which serves authentic South Indian delicacies. it has two neat and cutely done sections. The AC section has a bit of a dim lighting with the interiors heavily expired by the south side of India.
The outside section is colourful and vibrant with each table nicely spaced out giving you a good private experience
The servers and the manager are dressed up well. The ambience is positive and gives you a peaceful vibe making your dinning experience very comfortable.
The person handling my table was Mr Satish who is the captain out there. He was a person who was helping me in everything. I have visited many places in Bombay over time but have not help such a good hospitality since a while. He made it point that my mom has a comfortable and happy dinning experience. He was always on his " A " game when suggesting what shall i have and drink.
Lets get into what all I drank and ate.
Drinks.
- Mint Cooler
It was a good kick starter for me as Bombay is boiling I needed something to cool down my body from inside and mint cooler did a good job at it
- Kokum cooler.
Not your ordinary Kokum sharab. they have a good twist to this and a twist which I loved.
- Filter Coffee
Comes in an authentic brass glass and cup. the taste is absolutely fantastic. it's a thing which you NEED to try to experience the joy of coffee
- Mango Lassi
It's a mango season and I had to try this as Satish was adament on I giving it a try and I'm happy I gave it a try as it was yummy.
Food
- Rassam Shots.
When I entered and settled they gave me 4 types of rasam shots. The flavours were pepper, tomato , corriender and coconut. This was the first time I had tried any Rassam other than tomato. I loved all of them.
- Cheese chilli acepino idli in masala fondue
Small cute acepino idlis served in a cute plate with masala fondue. I actually could not get the actual taste of it as it had become a bit cold by the time I started having. ( Just being honest )
- Kara Paniyaram
The nice crispy crunchy Kara Paniyaram is a very popular dish in Tamilnadu. Its a favorite for many. Its made in a special mold called the paniyarakkal. The shape of the dish is a round. I loved the masala in which it was made. not to spicy not to blank. just perfect.
- Tahttu Idli
Tahttu idli is one of the Karnataka's famous breakfast dish. It is a regular dish in every household in Karnataka and is very easy and quick to make. It is also named as Plate idli. This recipe is made with Urad dal, Poha and Sabudana.
- Navadanya Dosa
This is a very healthy dosa as it's made with multigrain batter served with yummy coconut chutney and very authentic sambhar.
- Lunch Thali ( Highly recommended )
THIS was exactly what I was craving for. A thali which has Rassam , sambhar , Poriyal , kurma , chettinad , paneer masala , chettinad mushroom , curd , bisibele bhaat , lichee payasam , steal rice , macbari parotta , papadam , keerai vada , medu vada and butter milk ( PHEWWWW )
Dessert

Overall it was a perfect lunch experience, An experience that made it more special as my mom loved it and was happy seeing the hospitality.
